French parliament moves to ban child beauty pageants
AP: France’s Senate has approved a bill to ban beauty pageants for children under 16 in an effort to prevent the ‘hyper-sexualization’ of minors. The bill must now be passed by the National Assembly.
Those who attempt to enter a child into a beauty pageant could face up to two years in prison and 30,000 euros in fines if caught.
